Abou Lagraa, from hip-hop to contemporary dance

A dance-documentary

Abou Lagraa, choreographer, created Passage with three hip-hop dancers during the festival Suresnes Cité Danse in 2000.

Since then, Abou Lagraa has created a sequel to this play, danced this time round, by dancers of his company Nuit blanche (dancers trained in contemporary dance), and Allegoria Stanza, a play for ten dancers from Passage and from his company.

This documentary retraces the evolution of this choreographer between two creations, and analyses Abou Lagraa’s work through his own explanations and those of his dancers.
