Gnawas in the groves of Mayenne

In Spring 2005, a troop of musicians and initiated persons of the Moroccan brotherhood of the Gnawa worked their way through the north-western region of France called Mayenne, to put up shows of their rituals of African origin. Guided by film-director Pierre Guicheney, who himself has been initiated to the brotherhood for more than twenty years, the two priestesses who were accompanying the Music Master Hamida Bosso, discovered the magical world of groves and of traditional healers.
