In Mayenne and in l’Ile et Vilaine, like in other parts of France, healers work in secret. This is why Pierre Guicheney had to spend a long time approaching these persons and integrate himself into their milieu and then give us this extraordinary portrait of their culture and their beliefs.

The healers and the healed are endearing by their faith, their simplicity, their doubts, their dreams, and their surprises. But sometimes, they even captivate us because they trouble us and they pervade us with enchantment.
