The Lycée Sud in Le Mans is a vast establishment whose ambience reminds one of a university campus. Several big buildings on a spacious ground, more than two thousand students of whom two hundred live on-campus. The grounds are filled with motorcycles and bikes. At the gates of the school, cars with the sign "A" indicate that the drivers here are young and inexperienced...

At first sight, nothing would distinguish this school from any other establishment, if not for the coaches and minibuses that line up everyday to pick up students at four in the afternoon. Whether these vehicles bear logos of sports clubs or whether they belong to transport companies, their destinations are the same: gymnasiums, football grounds, dojos...

The Lycée Sud offers to several of its students, the possibility of intensely living out their passion for sport, without giving up on a normal academic pursuit. This unique feature, commonly called Sports-studies, facilitates the practice of high-level sports which demands several hours of training, by reorganising class schedules for students who need it.

This documentary film "Sports and Studies" will follow such students in the Lycée Sud for an entire year. We will tell the story of their passions, their dreams, their aspirations and stakes, both in sports and in studies.
