Night of the voices

This unique concert brings together two exceptional artists: Maria Pia de Vito, jazz virtuoso from Italy and Ramamani Ramanujam, a renowned singer who belongs to the South Indian tradition of music. Delving deep into the sources of their respective traditions, these two women share a common passion, that of musical fusion, jazz, Indian music and the art of improvisation. This concert-creation is the end result of an enormous amount of work put in by the two artists in Bangalore. It was there, at the Karnataka College of Percussions and Music – of which Ramamani Ramanujar is the Director – that they met and together created a common repertoire made of original compositions and breathtaking improvisations.
